FIFA Executive Programme in Football Agency Has Started

As a part of modernizing the football regulations, FIFA has launched its Executive Programme with 24 candidates pursuing the course starting September 13, 2022. It will conclude on March 17, 2022. Over 140 applications were received for the program; however, only 24 could make it to the final course.

The Executive Programme is being taught by world experts in the respective fields. A list of experts includes:-

  • Sports lawyers
  • Football agents
  • Tax advisors
  • Club executives
  • Other experts

World experts will cover four modules spread until March 2023. The first module is titled The Fundamental of Football Agency. It will conclude on September 16, 2022. The first module is being conducted over the internet, not requiring the candidates to visit the premise of FIFA physically.

It will be followed by the second module, titled Transfer of Players. The time window for teaching the second module is from November 14, 2022, to November 17, 2022. The third module takes an insightful dig at Making Deals/Winning Clients scheduled to start on January 24, 2023, and end on January 27, 2023.

Both the modules – Second and Third – will be conducted over the internet. Only the fourth module, titled Other Relevant Topics, will require all the candidates to visit the premise of FIFA physically. The conclusion will be taught from March 14, 2023, to March 17, 2023.

As per the sports news, Emilio Garcia Silvero, the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer of FIFA, said that FIFA ensures that all the industry agents are equipped with the necessary tools required to represent & protect their clients in the football market.

The executive program is a result of the feedback that was pitched in by several agents from around the world. The program costs $1900, excluding travel and accommodation expenses that candidates must bear themselves.

Participants enrolled in the executive program will come across the following benefits upon the conclusion of the program:-

  • Detailed knowledge about the regulatory framework of the football agency
  • Opportunity to work with actual cases covering different contractual aspects
  • Reviewing a detailed approach for a better decision-making process in football transactions

The application began on February 15, 2022, and ended on March 31, 2022. A final list of selected candidates was announced on April 10, 2022.

Players are not covered under the executive program; therefore, it has minimal effect on what best FIFA betting sites show or predict. Odds may witness a slight re-calculation, but the final effect will remain negligible.

Module 1 covers the entire football ecosystem while talking about different client types and representations. Candidates go through how they must deal with minors and their parents.

Module 2 is supported by case studies after candidates are thorough with regulations and other details related to the transfer of a player, including minors. Module 3 covers the rights and protection of a player while teaching negotiation skills.

The final module, Module 4, covers liabilities and insurance in football, scouting players, aspects of marketing, planning during & after the career, and resolution of a dispute.

The First edition has started with another edition in the pipeline based on the final outcome of the ongoing executive program.
