PokerStars Unveils New Schedule Change For WCOOP 2020 Festival

PokerStars, the globally-acclaimed online poker app, has released a post to convey the news about the change in the schedule of the 19th edition of the “World Championships of Online Poker 2020” amongst its fans. The event began on August 30 and shall continue through September 23. The head of Poker Operations at PokerStars, Luke Staudenmaier, revealed that WCOOP 2020 would have Saturday as the Day 2 of Thursday’s events and Friday shall be considered as the rest day.

The PokerStars team took to its Twitter handle to broadcast the news about the changed WCOOP 2020 schedule by stating:

In his interaction with the reporters, Luke affirmed that the decision to make Friday as the rest day has been taken to let the players fit into the long schedule of the poker tournament. This year the event will stretch to three long weeks and so the PokerStars team wanted to give rest to the high stakes/ high volume players of the event. Luke added that to keep the viewers and players hooked, the team has decided to organize some side events on Fridays that will help them to enjoy light entertainment. The spearhead affirmed that the players would get ample opportunities to bag free gifts and rewards that they can use in the next edition of the tournament too.

The WCOOP 2020 event boasts of a whopping prize pool of guaranteed rewards amounting to $80 Million spread across 225 different tournaments of the mega festival. There are 75 events with multiple variants of the game divided into three categories—low, medium, and high buy-in levels. The most important part of the tournament is the $5,200 buy-in Main Event, which gives a $10,000,000 guarantee prize.

Other notable events of WCOOP 2020 will include a $100,000 Player of the Series race and the four steps contest “Fast Track” that was organized during the Stadium Series, allowing a guaranteed prize of at least $5,200 Main Event. The WCOOP Sweepstakes program will involve rewards of $1.5 Million to the winners through daily prize draws. Six lucky winners will get a chance to enter the $25K Super High Roller, including three $5,200 Main Event entries every day. The new schedule will give an excellent opportunity to the players to rest and pump up their energy levels for the big game against their competitors.
