Basketball in the Summer League has started, and Memphis Grizzlies supporters and fans have much to cheer about.
The growth of Ziaire Williams will be the most well-liked. You can’t help but imagine Williams making a similar rise in light of Desmond Bane’s phenomenal improvement, and the upside Williams displayed last season.
Surprisingly, the Grizzlies selected Kennedy Chandler, Vince Williams, David Roddy, and Jake LaRavia as four rookies in this year’s draft. As a result, more players are now to watch regarding the roster for the upcoming season. Roddy and two-way player Kenneth Lofton Jr. will make a fun team, and I wholeheartedly support the Roddy-Lofton bully-ball.
The Memphis Grizzlies have a good mix of “veterans” and freshmen on their lineup. While Shaq Buchanan, a veteran of the G-League, and Tremont Waters, a former Boston Celtic, are also on the team, Ziaire Williams, Santi Aldama, and Xavier Tillman play the more major positions. They will be put to the test in this game against the 76ers.
Tuesday’s Salt Lake City Summer League game saw the Memphis Grizzlies defeat the Philadelphia 76ers 103-99 thanks to a consolidated 31 points from Ziaire Williams and Xavier Tillman.
The Grizzlies got off to a quick start by taking a 34-28 lead after one quarter, with five players scoring in double figures. By half-time, Memphis had increased its lead over the 76ers to 8 points, but Philadelphia had managed to reduce its shortfall into the final quarter by 3 points.
The Sixers eventually came within 2 points on several occasions, with the last one occurring with just 1:24 left, led by outstanding performances from Isaiah Joe and Paul Reed. Williams made a pair of crucial free throw attempts to ensure victory.
Numerous fans and online sports bettors, who placed wagers on NBA betting sites, were thrilled by this win.
Tillman scored sixteen points to lead the Grizzlies and had 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and one block. Williams, a 2021 lottery pick, contributed 15 points, 8 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. Both Jake LaRavia and Santi Aldama ended with identical performances of 13 points, two assists, and 4 and 3 rebounds, respectively. With ten points to lead the 2nd unit, Dakota Mathias also contributed 3 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block.
With a double-double of 20 points, 15 rebounds, 4 steals, and 1 assist, Reed led the 76ers. Joe scored 19 points, dished out 3 assists, grabbed two rebounds, stole 2, and blocked 1. Jaden Springer and Charlie Brown, Jr. both scored 15 points, had two assists, and Brown added 7 rebounds, and 2 steals to his stat line. Grant Riller scored twelve points.
On Wednesday, both teams will be back in form. At Vivint Arena, the Grizzlies play the Thunder, and the 76ers play the Jazz.
