India vs. Sri Lanka’s 2nd ODI: India seals series 2-0 with a win
The second cricket match between India and Sri Lanka ended with India sealing the series 2-0. The Lankan team won the toss and decided to bat first on a batting-friendly pitch.
However, the decision turned out to be fatal as the Indian team bowled them out with a cheap score of 215. Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj led the team with 3 wickets each. Similarly, Umran Malik carried on his form with 2 wickets, while Axar got 1.
Given how low the score was, everyone expected India to register a quick and comfortable win. Apart from this, even at betting sites for cricket, fans were hoping for India to do well, so that they can win their bets.
However, Sri Lanka’s bowling attack managed to put the Indian batting lineup to the test. Despite getting a start, both Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill failed to make an impact.
Even Virat Kohli was sent back to the pavilion on a score of 4, after which all eyes turned to Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul. The former had been in a decent touch across the formats, while KL Rahul had been facing heavy criticism for a while now.
That is why the partnership between the middle order proved to be vital. While Iyer made a valiant 28, KL Rahul saw India home with an unbeaten 64. The wicketkeeper played crucial partnerships with Hardik Pandya and in-form Axar Patel to help India win.
No bowler truly stood out for the Lankan squad, but Kumara and Karunaratne managed to get 2 wickets each. Similarly, Rajitha and de Silva racked up a wicket each to pose trouble for India. Nonetheless, the strong Indian batting lineup crossed the finish line comfortably to seal the series 2-0. However, seeing the current performances, it can be said that Sri Lanka was in much better form and played well during the T20Is.
