Even without the WC Trophy, Messi is the Greatest of All Time: Pep Guardiola

Lionel Messi recently assisted Argentina in registering a World Cup title victory after 36 long years. The 35-year-old ended his World Cup career by winning almost every major tournament.

Now, Pep Guardiola, the coach of Manchester United, has come forward to state that Messi is the GOAT (greatest of all time). According to Pep, Messi remains the best even if the player had not won the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Despite a disastrous start to the event, the Argentine squad performed admirably. The team beat multiple heavyweights to snatch the FIFA World Cup title from the defending champion, and Lionel Messi odds were offered on various football betting platforms.

The Manchester City coach stated that everyone could have an opinion. That is why Pep believes that Messi is the greatest, and it is difficult to understand how another player can compete with what Messi has done.

Everyone who has seen Maradona, Stefano, and Pele also has sentimental opinions. However, even if Messi had not won this World Cup, the opinion would not have changed, added Guardiola. Lionel Messi earned the Golden Ball award while closely competing for the Golden Boot award.

Other than Messi, the coach also discussed Man City’s upcoming matches and how the team is preparing for them. Guardiola confirmed that six of the starting 11 have come back to perform club duties.

The remaining 10 will also make a gradual return to the club as they get ready to play against Liverpool in the League Cup. As January brings several high-octane games, Manchester City will need every player to live up to expectations.
