Casa de Aposta Rio earns certification for sports betting in Rio
Casa de Aposta Rio Logo is now one of the five operators involved in sports betting and iGaming, and it has received certification from the Rio de Janeiro State Lottery, Loterj.
With the upcoming introduction of the Brazilian certified sports betting and iGaming space, active operators are queuing for certifications. Caesars Sportsbook and PNR Tecnologia are awaiting their turn.
The Chief Executive of Rio Jogo, Joao Victor de Araujo Souza, is grateful for the certification and commits to play by the rules.
After Rio Jogo, Loterj restarted the accreditation time for betting businesses. It will last for a month.
Last month, both PNR tecnologia and Lema submitted the required documents pertaining to Loterj certification for running their business involving iGaming and sports betting. The compliance factor has been dealt with. Caesars Sportsbook and Big Brazil will be reaching out for their certifications.
In the meantime, Loterj is seemingly receiving brickbats for overplaying its hand in releasing certifications in Brazil.
The Brazilian Institute for Responsible Gaming (IBJR) seems not to be in favor of Loterj. They consider it to be akin to breaking the federal rules related to the spread of sports betting and iGaming. They strongly feel that the situation will, in all probability, go completely out of hand and become extremely difficult to contain.
In the opinion of the associate lawyer of Pinheiro Neto Advogados Andre, Santa Ritta, IBJR is absolutely correct in its predictions and goes on to add that there will actually be total chaos if the situation continues the way it is.
