New Hampshire Gives Green Signal to Mobile Sports Betting
In a landmark decision, New Hampshire will soon allow sports betting. With this New Hampshire will become the second state in New England after Rhode Island to permit betting in sports. Betting company DraftKings has made the vital announcement saying that it will launch a mobile betting program next week that is way ahead of its scheduled launch.
Soon after the mobile betting product will get launched, individuals above the age of 21 will be able to bet on professional sports online. All they have to do is just download the app for placing their bets.
Contrary to earlier expectations, the launch of the mobile betting product will take place just in time before the playoff, and New Hampshire is likely to take advantage of the opportunity. Earlier when the state first allowed sports betting in November, Governor Chris Sununu had asserted that he would have it up and running prior to the Super Bowl.
Now beginning from Dec 30, citizens of New Hampshire will be allowed to officially and legally place sports bets online via the Draftkings digital sportsbook.
According to the representative of Draftkings, Bettors will be able to download the Draftkings sportsbook app. If they face any difficulty, they may also visit Draftkings and sign up for an account. Bettors will be able to buy sports betting via Draftkings’ platform statewide from their account.
Supporters of the bill expect revenue between $1.5 million to $7.5 million in the year 2021. The revenue is likely to go into the state’s education trust. The sponsors of the bill claim that the revenue will remain in the range of $13.5 million by the year 2023. The latest law will allocate 10 percent of the revenue received from sports betting for services to support the cure and prevention of gambling addiction.
