The weekend had been quite chaotic for the Encore, Bostan and very active for the State Police’s Gaming Enforcement unit, and Everett Police. The authorities made 9 arrests at the Encore Boston Harbor Casino where some of the arrests involved severe charges, like assault and battery, and drug possession. A large number of people were involved in the brawl, so the police had requested backup.
This was the second time, within the span of a few weeks where the Encore Boston Harbor Casino was thrust into the headlines because of brawls and multiple arrests.
In the first occasion, two people were arrested in three separate brawls; One, outside the Memoire nightclub; another in the main lobby of the hotel where a man was allegedly involved in a verbal argument with two women which escalated into a fight; and, the third one, on the gaming floor.
Along with the two arrests, a third man was summoned, and a fourth was taken into custody because of his extremely intoxicated state, and his continuous bellowing at the brawlers while they were being escorted off.
Encore’s in-house security team, issued a report stating that they, along with the local and state police, had quickly responded to the situation “with no impact or disruption to other guests or operations.”
Again, this Saturday, a violent fight broke out in front of the main entrance of the Luxury gaming resort, resulting in the arrest of four locals. Investigators declared that the four came from a “big hotel room party”; one of the men arrested was charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
Over the weekend, five other arrests were made in the same resort in separate incidences, with charges like resisting arrest, assault and battery, drug possession, trespassing, and disorderly conduct. In total, more than nine people were taken into custody that night.
A spokesperson from the Encore casino resort stated:
“We take security and safety at Encore very seriously. And needless to say, we have a zero-tolerance policy regarding any violation of the law or inappropriate behavior.”
Brawls at the luxury gaming resort have been a frequent headline since its inauguration on June 23. The very first working day, it saw four arrests.
