Post Britannia Stakes race, top charities share huge donation

After the Britannia Stakes race, leading charities in the United Kingdom have come forward to receive generous donations.

The flagship handicap race concluded on June 22, when Hayley Turner mounted Docklands to the win. SportsAid is expected to gain a share of 277,000 pounds from the race winnings. The charitable institution has several renowned names on its Patron list.

Some of them are Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, the Holocaust Educational Trust, Ascot Racecourse Supports, Together for Looked After Children, and the SAS Regimental Association.

Besides these Patrons, several well-known members have also signed up for the initiative. These members are Betting and Gambling Council participants: bet365, Kindred, 888 William Hill, Entain, Betway, Virgin Bet, Rank Group, LivescoreBet, Bet with Ascot, Fitzdares, and Tote.

Since its establishment in 2019, BGC members have raised almost 6 million pounds in charity via the virtual Grand National and the Britannia Stakes. The amount shows the massive demand for Horse racing betting sites in the UK.

Despite such prominent betting and gambling, the nation has minimized the rate of problem gambling among adults. Currently, only 0.3% of adults in the UK indulge in problematic gambling.

Coming back to the announcement, the Chief Executive of the Betting and Gambling Council also released a statement. According to Michael Dugher, it is great news that all the BGC members have managed to make such huge donations for a good cause.

The funds will be used to make a substantial difference for every involved charity. It is wonderful to know that BGC members have raised almost 6 million pounds for charities across the nation, added Dugher.

The initiative has been praised by several involved members and is expected to help the charities turn things around for the needy.
