Pre-game insight: Indiana Pacers versus New York Knicks

Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks will take center stage at Madison Square Garden, with the basketball game scheduled to commence at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. TNT will broadcast the game as the Pacers and New York strive to end the Eastern Conference Semifinals with victory.

Needless to say, only one will succeed, and by the looks of it, the second-seeded Knicks stand a better chance. They have a 54.8% chance of winning the NBA game, with an average winning point of 2.5 per basketball betting sites. The sixth-seeded Indiana Pacers have the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to overcome all odds. The overall tally is tied to 2-2 as both sides have won 2 games each. This makes the fifth game crucial.

Indiana has momentum that they can rely on. The same is untrue for New York. They have lost the previous two matches, indicating that the Pacers are on the verge of making a comeback after two initial setbacks.

The Knicks dominated the first game, winning 121-117 in the end. It was a rather close call, considering the pacers had managed to outperform them right before halftime. That quarter had ended on  22–31, against New York’s wishes. They did manage to secure the remainder in the basketball game.

New York carried the confidence into the second game and edged another one to their side by 130-121. This gave them a 2-0 lead in the 7-game series. The Knicks nearly replicated the performance of the first game. They again lost the momentum in the second quarter, or just before halftime, and then made a comeback.

It is safe to assume that the same strategy did not work in the following two games.

The Pacers identified a pattern to restrict their movement in the fourth quarter. Hence, gaining a single win in the three games that concluded from that moment. The Knicks were close enough to close the game in their favor before losing the possession.

Indiana Pacers cemented their strategy of restricting the Knicks by dominating throughout the game of 4 quarters. They only lost the pace in the fourth quarter, but that barely mattered because the lead was way too wide for New York to cover. In the end, Indiana was able to balance the series tally and keep the competition alive for the fifth game.

The New York Knicks are more likely to win for two reasons: confidence and the desire to stay in the basketball series. Not that the Pacers will let the game slip, but the New York Knicks can be stronger when it is required to be at a high level. In the end, it will all come down to how the Indiana Pacers tackle the aggression of the New York Knicks.
