NFL Betting Preview – Titanic Matchup on Tap with Bucs (Brady) and Packers (Rodgers)

There are a lot of MVP awards between Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady. And they are two of the more compelling characters in the NFL. They’re going to oppose each other on Sunday as Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers play host to Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers in NFL betting action that begins at 4:25 PM. Eastern time at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

Don’t forget that at BetOnline, you’ve got live NFL betting available on all the games and Odds Boosters, which can offer explosive payouts on pre-selected parlays all the time.

It was a nightmarish start for the Packers in Week 1, as they were put away rather easily by the Minnesota Vikings (23-7). The Packer fans did what Rodgers often suggests: to “relax.” After a bumpy ride with a receiving group that no longer includes Davante Adams, Rodgers settled down with his veterans and threw for 234 yards against the Chicago Bears in the second week, engineering a 27-10 victory.

The key, however, may have been the Green Bay ground attack, which churned out 203 yards. That included 132 for Aaron Jones, who is averaging 5.7 yards per carrying AFTER contact. That can be the kind of thing that’s tough to deal with, especially when he is in the backfield with AJ Dillon at the same time.

And Rodgers was more comfortable having Allen Lazard in the lineup. Lazard had to sit out the opener with an ankle injury, had a touchdown catch, and without Adams, he’s one of the guys who will have to fill the vacuum.

The Bucs almost only had thirteen first downs, but with the help of their former quarterback, Jameis Winston, who threw three interceptions in the fourth quarter, they could pull away for a 20-10 victory over the New Orleans Saints.

In the pro football betting odds that have been posted on this game by the folks at Tampa Bay is a slight favorite:-

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 1 (- 115)

Green Bay Packers + 1 (- 105)

Over 42 points -110

Under 42 points -110

Both of these teams have banged-up wide receivers. And Tampa Bay has a more unique situation, as Mike Evans is suspended for this game for his part in a brawl last week in which he knocked down cornerback Marshon Lattimore. Brady actually instigated the incident, which got ugly in a hurry. Chris Godwin is out as well. And almost all the other receivers made their way to the injury report.

Both of these quarterbacks are known for making the most of what they are working with, although that doesn’t necessarily mean that there’s going to be a scoring bonanza. Remember that, like Green Bay, the Buccaneers can run the ball as well, with Leonard Fournette gaining 192 yards in the first two games.

This could be one of those contests being played very close to the vest. And in that kind of game, we have to give Tampa Bay an edge because of how they defend. The only team that has been stingier in terms of yards allowed on a per-drive basis is Buffalo, and no team in the league has held the opponent without positive yardage on a rushing play more often (on a percentage basis) than the Bucs have.

So we are going with the home-standing Bucs, and if you’re looking to parlay it, you may want to try the “under,” which might be a surprise with two Hall of Fame quarterbacks dueling.

BetOnline gives you a ton of options if you are a sports bettor, and that includes Odds Boosters, offering explosive payouts on pre-selected parlays every day of the week.
