Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings Eleven are going to clash in the 8th match of Tata IPL 2023 on April 05, 2023. The stadium will host two teams that have always produced entertaining events. Scheduled for 7:30 pm IST, the match will see Shikhar Dhawan lead the Kings and Sanju Samson take charge of RR.
Kings could likely consider including Kagiso Rabada provided Nathan Ellis does miss out on the event. Other than these two players being swapped, there is no major change the opener-winning team will look to have. Sam Curran was amazing against KKR. Kings also saw Sikandar Raza and Bhanuka Rajapaksa leave their mark for the 7-run win over KKR by the DLS method.
The Royals also have little reason to modify their line-up. The victory over SRH by a margin of 72 runs has pretty much made sure that everyone is doing their job.
However, Devdutt Padikkal is likely to lose his position in the middle order. Umran Malik sent him back to the pavilion at 2 runs off 5 balls. A single match should not decide how the line-up should turn up for the next event, but it could be his prevailing form and mindset that the management has noticed.
Kuldeep Sen could appear in the top 11 or on the list of impact players against the Kings. Several cricket betting sites predict that the appearance is inevitable because the pitch demands a fast bowler.
RR is in the second position with a net run rate of +3.600, while Kings is in 5th position with an NRR of +0.438. RR happens to have the best NRR in Tata IPL 2023 so far. That would be helpful, provided RR wins over the Kings. Gujarat Titans have accumulated 4 points from 2 victories. It would slip to a lower rank considering the NRR is just +0.700.
This will be followed by RCB versus KKR on April 06, 2023, at 7:30 pm IST at Eden Gardens. RCB is all charged up with the opening victory. KKR has a reason to win for the redemption of loss due to the DLS method.
