Delhi Capitals beat UP Warriorz to advance to the first WPL Finals

The cricket match between Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz produced the first finalist of the inaugural WPL. 

As many fans expected, the Delhi Capitals handily beat the UP Warriorz to directly qualify for the finals. Alice Capsey led the team by example with an all-round performance, securing three wickets and scoring 34 runs. 

Starting the match, UP Warriorz managed to secure a decent score of 138 for 6 in their 20 overs. Tahila McGrath’s 58 and Alyssa Healy’s 36 were the highlights of their batting. On the other hand, Alice Capsey delighted every fan at the top cricket betting sites by striking three wickets.

The player certainly stood out for fantasy league fans, as the player also produced a batting spectacle. Captain Meg Lanning also scored a convincing 39 off 23, while Marizanne Kapp sailed the team home with an unbeaten 34 off 31.

Now that every team has played its quota of eight matches, the WPL has produced the final table standings. Delhi Capitals topped the league with 12 points on the strength of six wins and two losses. While the Mumbai Indians also secured 12 points with similar stats, DC beat them on the NRR front.

The Capitals produced a net run rate of +1.86 while MI lagged slightly behind with a +1.71 NRR. UP Warriorz finished third with 8 points and an NRR of -0.200. The team was followed by RCB and GG, who both secured 4 points.

The difference between the teams was decided by their NRR, where RCB scored -1.13 and GG secured -2.20. With the Mumbai Indians expected to reach the finals, a rematch against the team seems inevitable. The teams have met twice before, with both winning one game each.
