Matteson Village Board Sanctions Casino Proposal of Choctaw Nation

The Matteson casino will be opening by the spring of the year 2022 if given the green light by the regulators.

With all gambling associated constructions like the hotel halls, some 900 people were given employment earlier. The information came out from the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, who is also a partner to the village through the project.

It is amongst 3 of the casino projects in south suburban announced to date. It has to file all the necessary documents with applications for a fresh license before the 28th of October to the Illinois Gaming Board.

The Choctaw operates the casinos as well as some other facilities of gambling throughout Oklahoma. It says that the project could represent a speculative investment worth of over $300 million when completely done.

The initial level is claimed to be a casino entrenching over an area of 123,000 sq.ft, alongside a hotel with 200-rooms and a convention center building afterward.

The Choctaw is also open to the option of buying 35 acres of U.S. 30 as well as Harlem Avenue in the northeast area. It also prospects buying 23 acres land more to provision the upcoming expansions.

The Choctaw functions in 7 casinos and 15 mini-casino bars that remain an entity with the Oklahoma travel centers. The community right now pays 10,000 headcounts that work in over 120 various companies, encompassing gambling, manufacturing, food service as well as agriculture, says Janie Dillard, the senior executive officer of the community’s commerce department.

She spoke in an interview that the Daily Southtown in Matteson was intended to create “something this community will be proud of and is going to be a family destination.”

I believe this project will be an asset not just to Matteson, but to the entire Southland Region. After interviewing multiple casino operators, we felt the team led by the Choctaw Nation provided the best combination of experience, vision, community engagement, and a financially feasible plan,

said Matteson Mayor Sheila Chalmers-Currin.

We’re honored with the chance to match our team’s experience with the community of Matteson and to create jobs and opportunity across the south suburbs,

said Janie Dillard.

Besides, the casino at a south suburban expansion of the gambling division offers casino licenses to Chicago, Rockford, Danville, Waukegan as well as downstate Williamson County.

The regulation is fostering a harness racing track of combination as well as a south suburban casino. One such project has already been taking shape in Tinley Park.

The state, although, asserted that it wouldn’t be selling the property that covers a 280-acre area to the village. This decision came out while talking terms to the village regarding the Tinley Park buying out the ex Mental Health Center of Tinley Park for the racino on Tuesday last week. The racino is to be built inside one of 7 towns that are approved of the construction of a casino, along with the Orland.
