Wimbledon 2023: A look at the recent matches

If the recent action in Wimbledon 2023 is anything to go by, then it clearly succeeds in painting a picture then what is about to come is more interesting. To start with, Alcaraz, the World Number 1 champion, defeated Berrettini in the Round of 16 by claiming three sets to his name. He will next meet Rune in the Quarter-Final to cement his spot in the tournament.

A win against Berrettini came despite a slow start. Alcaraz was without momentum, losing the first set by 3-6. Interestingly, the numbers remained the same except for the fact that they spoke in favor of the 20-year-old Spanish tennis player.

Quarter Finals against Rune will mark the first one to be played between the two stars aged below 21 years. Rune comes from the winning Round versus Dimitrov in the Round of 16. The final tally was 6-3, 6-7, 6-7, and 3-6 in Rune’s favor. A close call ended with advancement for Rune.

Novak hails from Serbia. The 36-years old tennis champion has a total of 23 Grand Slams singles winnings to his name. Assuming Djokovic makes it to the final Round and wins the title, then it would be his 8th Wimbledon title throughout his career.

The most interesting turning point so far is Tsitsipas losing to his American opponent, Eubanks. His journey comes to a shocking end after the scoreboard left them at 3-6, 7-6, 3-6, 6-4, and 6-4. There was an obvious fight coming from Tsitsipas, especially since he was coming from a victory over Dere in Round 3. Eubanks was eyeing a loss after letting go of the first set. Tables turned when he nearly won the following Round creating a huge buzz at online tennis betting sites.

The third set brought Tsitsipas back in action, but that was temporary since Eubanks clinched the remaining two sets with ease.

Rybakina is defending her title. She will continue to do so since she has passed the Round of 16 after defeating Maia by 4-1. The event apparently concluded via walkover. Her Quarter Finals are now with Jabeur, probably on the same date when Keys and Sabalenka lock horns to finalize a spot in the Semi-Finals.

Women’s Singles QF begins on July 11, 2023. Pegula and Vondrousova will first warm up Court 1. The attention will then move on to Switek versus Svitolina at Center Court.

Men’s Singles QF is also beginning at Wimbledon 2023 on July 11, 2023. Djokovic is expected to have the maximum attention at Center Court, where he meets Rublev. This is scheduled to happen after Sinner and Safiulin take over Court 1.

One of the much-awaited events of Alcaraz versus Rune will follow on the next date, with the venue and time yet to be announced. Eubanks faces Medvedev probably before their event.

Wimbledon 2023 started on June 26, 2023, and it will conclude on July 16, 2023, with winners from all categories announced.
