Giving a boost to the players is the victory over West Indies by 7 wickets. The target of 182 was chased down in 43.3 overs. Not just that they were able to keep their wickets safe, but they even completed the innings before the opponents were all bowled out by them. Winning the remaining events is crucial if they truly want to drive all the way to India for the tournament.
The Netherlands have won only a single event out of the three events they have played. Their NRR is lower; chances are negligible. They will have to win the remaining matches by a wider margin. It is only then they will qualify. Two points on the table don’t suffice as the intent to play the game in October-November 2023.
Chances for the Netherlands also stand if Scotland beats the hosts. The two-time world cup winners are out of the qualifying race.
