Atlantic City Marks 45 Years of Legal Casino Gambling

As per the reports of The Press of Atlantic City, an event was held to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the committee of voters who legalized casino gaming. A five-person council of gaming experts was convened and spoke about local industry matters. Additionally, the speakers and experts emphasized the prospects of the sports betting industry. Furthermore, experts advised that if similar trends follow, casino executives must embrace the mass popularity of sports betting, casino gaming, and others from the local city to the global level, that is, to the tourists.

Similarly, competitive video games and Esports should also reach the top of casinos’ objectives while taking advantage of their fame to revolutionize what the city offers tourists.

Those who love sports gambling might also be fans of New Jersey, one of the first states in the U.S. to recognize the needs of its public to place bets on sports events and athletes. Gambling has been legal in New Jersey for 45 years. The jury’s recommendation makes perfect sense as the growing U.S. esports betting market continues to turn up billions of dollars in income streams that the nation has been enjoying for half a century.

New Jersey, one of the most successful sports betting states, legalized gambling in 1976 in Atlantic City. The idea was to increase tourist flow and make extra money. Atlantic City has now become a well-known travel spot with casinos, beaches, boardwalks, and gambling. The anniversary was said to celebrate the city’s renewal as a pseudo-cultural American landmark.

However, outside Nevada, New Jersey has the maximum income generation from sports betting. Since June 2018, the market has generated a handle of $31.57 billion. It equates to $2.2 billion in sportsbook revenue converted into $278 million in tax revenue. However, the collected money acts as funding for projects for the welfare of the residents. The city experts say esports and betting are like honey that attracts the tourists’ bees, and the bettors expect an easy and safe bet to be placed from anywhere.
