The final schedule of the upcoming World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) has been finally announced by PokerStars. The dates for this flagship online series had already been out last month, but it is only now that the full schedule of the tournament has been revealed. Along with the worth of overall guarantees attached to the series has also been disclosed by the operator.

WCOOP Schedule and Guarantee

Spanning for around 3 weeks, the online tournament will begin on September 5 with a total guarantee worth $75 million. This makes the tournament largest in terms of the guarantee in the entire history of WCOOP. Last year, the total guarantee was $70 million, which translate into a 7% increase in the guarantee amount this year. That said, the amount of money attached in terms of average guarantee/ tournament has decreased from $385,000 in 2018 to $342,000 in 2019. This has happened because the number of events has increased from 61 in 2018 to 73 in 2019. Commenting on the revelation of guarantee, Severin Rasset who is acting as Managing Director and Commercial officer at PokerStar, said that the guarantee added this year is the largest in the history of world championship event and will motivate all the participants to actively engage and participate in the event.

Wide Choices and Qualifying Routes

The range of buy-ins has been decided between $2.20 and $25,000. Rasset added that the tournament has decided to offer a wide range of formats and a large number of qualifying routes so that all players will able to find a tournament of their choice. This 20-day event is expected to be huge, and PokerStars is confident to set new records of participation and revenue this year.
