A Dozen More Events Confirmed for World Series of Poker 2020

WSOP has finalized 12 additional events for its 2020 poker event. It would be the 51st running of poker’s most popular and richest tournament series.

According to the official announcement on WSOP’s website dated December 19, 2019, the series would be running from May 27, 2020, to July 15, 2020, held in Las Vegas at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. With a dozen more events added, the total number of confirmed events has now reached 15.

The reports also mentioned that the annual signature No-Limit Hold’em events like Ladies, Super Seniors, and Casino Employees have confirmed dates. The grand festival will also witness the return of the popular events, such as Monster Stack, the Millionaire Maker, Tag Team, Double Stack, Crazy Eights, Little One for One Drop, The Closer, Colossus, and Mini Main Event.

Jack Effel, the Vice President of WSOP, said that they were still composing the schedule of WSOP 2020 in its totality. Continuing further, the VP stated that they have secured the primary No-Limit Hold’em events, which anchor everything and they would keep providing regular updates as the remaining schedule gets filled out.

The recently announced events, as well as the three events announced before, namely BIG 50, Main Event, and Seniors, have not only marked their presence in the schedule previously but have also turned out to become the most popular, driving in huge prize pools and fields.

Effel was also quoted as saying,

We hope this announcement right before the holidays can help you lock in travel plans so you can join us at the Rio in Las Vegas for the 51st running of the WSOP.

For those who are unaware, the WSOP 2019 witnessed a record participation of 187,298 entries. That paved the way for generating a prize pool of a whopping $293,183,345, a record high in 50 years.
