Lusail Stadium at FIFA sees Portugal defeat Switzerland 6-1

The Round of 16 matches played out at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar witnessed the much-awaited game between the hardened team of Portugal, pitted against the Switzerland team. The match somehow began on an aggressive note from the side of the Portugal team. Right from the word go, it seemed as if the basic strategy of the Portugal team was to create pressure on the Swiss. It was a plan that went totally in their favor. The Swiss found themselves on the back foot and doing their best to stem the onslaught effectively.

The Portugal players soon began to take complete advantage of the situation, seemingly going in their favor, and unleashed a tremendous power boost. Under the circumstances, Goncalo Ramos took the game into his own hands and successfully scored a hat trick. Three much-required goals went in his name. At this point of the game, the Switzerland side began to go further on the defensive, but with little visible effect. The Portugal team had them thoroughly confused and disoriented.

What followed after this was sufficient to break the Swiss team’s morale ultimately. Goncalo Ramos’ hattrick was followed by Pepe, Raphael Guerreiro, and Raphel Leo scoring their respective goals. This caused a tremendous increase in the betting odds at FIFA betting sites, giving an opportunity to bettors to win big.

In the case of the Swiss team, however, the solitary goal scored by them was by Manuel Akanji. With this defeat on a 6-1 in favor of Portugal, the team is now poised to stand up against Morocco in their quarter-final game.
