PokerStars Initiates Testing Poker Side Bets

PokerStars is conducting tests on a new feature that will allow players to place side bets on upcoming cards.

While there has been no official announcement for the addition of this feature on the official website or blog page of PokerStars, but a report by Poker Industry PRO claims that it has cited a webpage that details this new feature.

Placing wagers on upcoming cards has always been there, but with this feature, it is for the first time that it will be possible in online poker. Side bets are placed on flop being all one color, all one suit, or the arrival of a certain card. This is mostly done to keep boredom away while waiting for enough players to gather so that the cards can be distributed and the game started.

At present, the feature is available to only its UK and EU clients and at hold’em tables only. The wagers can be placed against the house that is PokerStars. The bets placed by the players are deducted from their account and not from their stack placed on the table.
